參與者兩周體重減了6公斤

為避免意外發生，研究團隊同時為裝置配備了緊急解鎖工具，以供參與實驗者隨身攜帶。據指，參與實驗者均未有偷偷使用解鎖工具，但有一人承認曾攝入融化的巧克力與汽水。最終，7名健康及肥胖的參與者在為期14天的實驗期內，平均體重減了6.36公斤。

研究員：非侵入性的手術替代方案

奥塔哥大學副校長、首席研究員布倫頓（Paul Brunton ）於新聞稿指出，減肥最大挑戰是難以控制自己的進食慾望。DentalSlim Diet Control 而作為一種它是一種非侵入性、可逆、經濟且有吸引力的外科手術替代方案，能幫助患者建立新習慣，讓他們在一段時間內遵循低熱量的飲食。

To clarify, the intention of the device is not intended as a quick or long-term weight-loss tool; rather it is aimed to assist people who need to undergo surgery and who cannot have the surgery until they have lost weight.
